Teal Takeover for Ovarian Cancer Awareness

Teal is hot this season for more than one reason. Jewel tones for fall? Yes, please. But September is also Ovarian Cancer Awareness month and I'm wearing teal to support the cause! My friend, Crystal, wears teal for her grandma, and she brought this month's mission to my attention. I'll be back with some facts on Monday. Today, though, I'm wearing my teal (I don't have much of it, but I plan to change that!) with pride and I hope you will, too.
dress: Ross, shoes: Lower East Side (jacked 'em from my mom), glasses: Nine West
Excuse my awesome photo quality. My camera was lopsided on my adirondack chair on the front porch and the lens was all fogged up from the intense humidity. One of these days, I'll figure out how to snap my own outfit photos. It's {pretty far down} on my to-do list.
In other news, I felt pretty in-tune with the mombots this morning.

27 Dresses

... or maybe a few less.
I really did love getting gussied up for days in a row while in northern VA for my brother (and new sister!)-in-laws' wedding. We started the celebration on Thursday afternoon with a quiet evening at the bride's parents' home. Homemade sangria and homemade pizza filled our tummies and we had lots of fun chatting about Kathleen's (hey, sister!) and Brent's relationship. I also got to meet her closest friends and spend time with her mom and sister, which was really nice! Little S. did a great job fitting in with the ladies, ate some pizza, drank the virgin sangria, and watched Yo Gabba Gabba! on our new iPad.

dress and sandals: Target
watch: New York & Company (it stopped, though. sad face.)
shiny skin: c/o 110 degree temps + 100% humidity

Apologies for quality, but I jacked this from the MOH's facebook. I look good making salad, right?
YES, I made that face on purpose. Or maybe I just look like that in the kitchen.

I'll be posting more outfits from last week + Little S. in her flower girl garb throughout the week! I hope you all have been enjoying your summer. I sure have! I go back to work for the first time in THREE WEEKS tomorrow...

Also, if you donated an item in my 400 Follower Giveaway, definitely check out the winner's (Tara!) post about the prize package. She was so sweet to individually thank each and every person who sent something!

We Love Colors Wednesday: Scarlet Red

You read it right, my friends! New outlook, new feature! Wednesdays are going to be my days to feature sweet legs and my lovely sponsor, We Love Colors!

skirt (worn as tube dress): Thrifted
blazer: Thrifted and birthday gifted by Rochelle
scarlet red tights: c/o We Love Colors
booties: Payless
teal bead and chain necklace: Body Shop
teal belt: Old Navy

You guys know how much I love the combination of red and teal, right? It's unexpected, but so classic at the same time. There was a Tiffany blue/ruby craze in the wedding biz a few years ago, and perhaps my love of the combo stems from buying every wedding magazine featuring the colors for inspiration (AFTER I was married). I'm definitely considering doing this scheme in a room at our house. Hubs will be on board, because he loves me and I'm awesome.

Also, in case you were wondering how awesome Hubs is, he stopped by work to pick me up in the parking lot on his way home this morning. He took my pictures AND saved me from the freezing rain. What a lover, right? Then (just when I thought I couldn't love him any more), he tweeted this:
"Taking pics of @FashionMomma22 brings back great college art memories and how fun it is!"
I love that man.

Just in case you're missing Little S., she taught me what a pentafoil is last night.
A PENTAFOIL.
Do you know what that is?
Also, we took her potty seat to dinner last night and she used it before AND after eating at the restaurant!!!

For all you lovers of pretty things, please check out my friend's mom's Etsy shop, Doe Run Jewelry! Each piece is handmade and no two items are exactly alike. I'm so excited to see where the shop goes!
There just may be a Doe Run Jewelry giveaway in the nearish future!
Get pumped and start telling me what your favorites are!

Jealous of My Legs?

My inseam is 21.5" and I wear a size 16.
Put those measurements together and guess how easy it is to find pants or TIGHTS that fit.
Mmmhmm. Ladies, if you're short, do you have issues with tights sagging at your ankles? You've probably noticed that on days I don hosiery, I also wear boots. That's so you can't see the miles of extra fabric that gather by my feet.
In short (pun in tended), my friends, you are probably not jealous of my legs.

JUST KIDDING!!!
Today, you should all be jealous of my legs. Because they are TEAL.
We Love Colors is the very first place in the entire universe (I know, because I've searched all over creation) that offers plus sized tights by height! Yes, you read that correctly. I know! How amazing, right?
Not only do these carribean colored beauties fit my waist (sans nasty double muffin top), but do you see puddles of fabric around my ankles? No? Me neither.
I have fallen in love.

ruffle cami: New York & Company
leopard cardigan: APT. 9 via Kohl's
pencil skirt: Old Navy
skinny belt: New York & Company
teal tights: c/o We Love Colors
heels: Mudd via Kohl's
necklace: The Body Shop
wavy hair: Done with my InStyler
dark roots: c/o I don't have money to get a touch-up

The nasty rain decided I wasn't allowed to take photos outside, today, so the trusty vacant office across from mine has proved to be a mediocre backdrop. Plus, when I tell you I work in a bat cave, I'm only a tiny bit joking, because there are 4 empty offices surrounding me. I'm literally all by myself, back here.
And that's great when I'm doing an impromptu morning photo sesh.

If you're like me and you have a body that's not standard size, OR if you adore tights and colors (51 of them!), you have got to check out We Love Colors. I'm asking for a shopping spree there for my birthday, which, by the way, is very soon.
Just in case you were wondering... it's on February 13.
