Trendy Tot Tuesday: A New Coat!

I keep forgetting that when you have a child, you have to essentially buy a new wardrobe for each season. That means it's time for a winter coat and I'm glad to report that Old Navy had plenty of choices! Surprisingly, we bought the same coat that we got last year but in a different color. When I asked her to smile in her new digs, this is what the small fry did.

And in case you wondered how Halloween turned out, here are Little S. and I as Foofa and Toodee.

Trendy Tot Tuesday: A Princess

I had to pull out the big guns for church on Sunday. Little S' long-sleeved dress selection is nil, so that's on the list of things to thrift and consign over the next few weeks! It's chilly outside! A few months ago, my MIL hit up a children's clothing boutique that was having a major closing clearance. Little S. scored some beautiful items, but most of them were size 4T. She wears mostly 3T now, so I figured that this dress would work so long as she didn't walk on it (and she didn't).

dress: small boutique in VA from Grandma
tights: Koala Kids via Babies 'R Us
shoes: Stride Rite from Grandma (previously worn for flower girl duty!)
bow: Target

She's like a little angel. I can't get enough!

Trendy Tot Tuesday: Pumpkin Patch

Friends, I've decided that until I get some interest in participating in Trendy Tots Tuesday, I'm no longer going to make it a link party. I think my long-time (and hopefully some newbies!) readers know how much I love to share Little S. once a week and hopefully you enjoy her cuteness sprinkled into a weekly post! I'm going to continue these Tuesday posts because I love them, but I'm not going to stress about creating a link-up since, well, I'm the only one sharing! Hope you all understand! If someone else is interested, let me know, and I'll open it up again!

That said, my brother, his girlfriend, and her daughter came down to visit over the weekend and we took a trip to one of our local (very popular) farms to see some animals, let the girls ride the pony, run through the hay maze, play on the playground, and pick punkins! All the girls wore boots, because, you know... it's not fall without boots! Little S. was especially excited to be around the animals and to pick out her very own pumpkin for the first time. And of course, she did it all in style!

shirt: Walmart
skirt: Old Navy
boots: Old Navy (gift from Uncle Ryan)
bow: local artist
on nails: Ulta's Mint Condition

Little S. found the perfect pumpkin and Husband found a great big one for the grown-ups. So our pretty pumpkins are sitting outside on our front porch, waiting for one more week to get carved and ready for Halloween!

Trendy Tots Tuesday: All Bows

There's nothing girlier than bows and sparkles and Little S. had both at church on Sunday. We got this sparkly sweater dress from Aunt Whitney (who's in ITALY right now... lucky) last Christmas and although it's a 2T, Little S. hasn't been able to wear it until now. Usually, Target 2T clothing is pretty streamlined, but for some reason this dress just ran really big and I'm so glad it'll be perfect for the holiday season this year!

We also have been blessed with cool enough weather to start wearing our We Love Colors tights, again! Little S. was very pleased to pick out the tights she wore with her dress. I let her choose from her entire collection, since with an all black dress, she couldn't go wrong! She looked like a little slice of Christmas hope, which you all know how much I love that time of year!

dress: Target via Aunt Whitney
tights: c/o We Love Colors
bow: local artist
shoes: Wal-Mart
necklace: gift from Grandma

Sundays are my favorite because we all love going to church so much. Little S. tells me she "dances with Jesus," which I think is the sweetest and most honest thing in the world. I tell her I dance with Jesus, too. Because I JAM during the music sesh. And who doesn't love getting dressed up to celebrate the Man, himself? It's such a win-win.

Trendy Tots Tuesday: Double Love

As many of you know, Husband and I peaced out from Wednesday to Sunday last week on a trip to Gatlinburg, TN for our fifth wedding anniversary. It was really, really awesome... But we missed Little S. so very much! I almost made Husband stop in our town to let me go to the bathroom so I wouldn't have to go when we got home. I literally didn't want ANYTHING between me and squeezing my little girl. Thankfully, she was napping when we got home, so I got to pee and wake her up. "I missed you" snuggles are the BEST.

top: Garanimals (WalMart)
shorts: Old Navy
shoes: Baby Gap via Mell
bow: local artist

Husband says, "Smile for the camera like Mommy does." And I swear she pops these poses just like that. Darn cute. Also, I was unsure about this top for the longest time- not that it's not adorable, but the embroidery looks scratchy on the back, so I'd only been layering it over long sleeves. This "pupcake" top just happens to be one of Little S' favorite clothing items and she likes to wear ALL PURPLE with it, so I can't deny her of it during warmer months any longer! Oh wait, WHAT warmer months? Wooo!

These are just a few funsies from Sunday night before Bible and snuggle time. Husband was showing Little S. some trip pictures and she decided it would be much more fun to get her picture taken than look at one more mountain. So, here she is - first with prayer puppy and then with "Baby Bear" that mommy and daddy brought back from Tennessee.

Kid is a total riot. All the time.

Trendy Tots Tuesday: Growing Up & an Accent Vlog!

Sometimes you can't deny the beauty of your own child. I'm not tooting my horn. I'm tooting hers! Husband took these photos last weekend and while I was going through my camera, I just about melted in a puddle.

Friends, Little S. is getting *SO* big. I can't stand it. She's turning into such a little girl. Where did my teeny tiny go?

top and jeggings: Old Navy
shoes: Baby Gap via Mell
cami: Target
Yankee Bear: Yankee Candle via Grandma

Bekah of Matters of Merrymaking tagged me in an accent vlog, so I decided that in my great insomnia, I'd oblige to the challenge. (Hey, girl!)

Trendy Tots Tuesday: Squares

Little S. and I got dressed on Saturday and we were both wearing gingham tops. She said, "Mommy, you have yellow squares and I have black squares!" The kid is so flipping cute I can hardly stand it. She also held my hand when I got seven inches chopped off my hair on Friday and said, "Don't worry, Mommy. It's not scary." And even better? Now she tells me I have "little" hair. It's true, right? My hair's a lot littler than before.

Here we are in a completely unprepared moment, but you can see our "squares" together.

my outfit: see yesterday

On Little S:
dress as top: Carter's
leggings: Baby Gap
boots: Old Navy (from Uncle Ryan)

Trendy Tots Tuesday: Sparkle

This isn't much of a trend post so much as an adorable kid experience post. Little S. in jammies and me in sweats and leggings wasn't exactly a "get dressed and take photos" moment, but what happened in actuality is much, much better. As you know, if you read Saturday's post, my best friend got married over the weekend. We sent the happy couple off with gigantron sparklers and as Husband and I left to go home, we saw a jillion more of these babies sitting outside the reception site. We grabbed 3 so Little S. could experience the magic, too!

on Little S -
jammies: Carter's
flip-flops: Old Navy

on me -
Sweatshirt and sports bra (since you can see the straps): Old Navy
tank: WalMart
leggings: New York & Company
earrings: Bridesmaid gift from Jen
necklace: Christmas gift from Husband (2007)

I was so proud of our girl. Husband and I both thought she'd freak out about the sparklers and be afraid to hold one. I'm terrified of fire, so I'm especially nervous of my kid being around it. But she did really well and kept saying, "I have a pretty firework!" I'm glad we got to light them together!

How are you and your tot? Any pictures to share this week!?

Trendy Tots Tuesday: Sunshine & Seersucker

Yellow and blue has been a favorite combination of mine for a long time. When I found these seersucker pants at one of our local consignment shops, I just had to pick them up. Little S., as always, was a perfect sport while getting her photos taken. Her dolly, Charlie, came along for the ride.
shirt: Old Navy
pants: Consignment (I don't remember the brand)
shoes: Baby Gap (handed down from Mell)
bow: Local Artist
Charlie came from Boston and was a gift from Grandma.

Do you have an adorable tot that you want to share with us? This is a blog hop, so link up below! Make sure in your Trendy Tots post that you link back to a little bit of this... so other parents can jump on the bandwagon!
